StarDrone is actually based on a Flash Game. It is quite similar to an old retro game pinball but it is set on a very huge cosmic space environment. The game is comprised of 50 levels and each is a pretty much of a big challenge wherein you could either spend 20 or more tries. Although, this is not so bad as you would get an “Epic Fail” trophy for it. The goal of the game is to pilot your Drone across the galaxy, collecting pieces of Equilibrix in order to restore the balance of the universe and stop the expansion of evil G-Noids. Pretty sassy for a plot right?

The gameplay is quite simple, you pilot the drone by attaching yourself to a beacon and the drone will circle the beacon until you would release it. The direction of drone will be based upon the angle when you released the beacon. The game basically has only one button to it and that’s by attaching to a beacon and releasing to it. Controls are pretty much comfortable and the game is also PlayStation Move compatible. The game seems so easy right?

There are four types of level in the game. The first is by lighting up all the stars in the stage, second is by collecting gems, third is by surviving the stage and reaching the goal, and lastly is by destroying all the enemies within the stage. Yes, there are enemies in this game pretty much different from the casual pinball game. Thus, the game provides a combat mechanism wherein you can crush the enemies but you can only do this when you are in Comet Rush Mode. To activate Comet Rush Mode, you have to light up some amount of stars. Comet Rush Mode provides you with a faster speed and capability to destroy enemies and obstacles.

What made the game so difficult is that your drone move so fast that you might not be able to keep track with its motion and hit enemies or spikes or fall off and when you do, you have to re-do everything again. This might be an infuriating experience to some gamers but certainly it would be challenge to some. Although, the game could be quite monotonous with its identical placements and environment, the replayability still comes in because of the medals you earn and its online leaderboards that reassures that there is always a score to beat.
